Hike with Us at Menzel on May 7th at 2pm

With our very first Naturally Outdoors in L&A paddle under our belt, it's time to shift our focus to our very first hiking adventure! We hope you can join us on on Saturday, May 7th at 2pm at Menzel Centennial Provincial Nature Reserve.

If you've never been to this relatively unknown destination, you're in for a real treat. It's a very nice 4.5km "there n' back" trail that takes you through a number of interesting habitats. The different terrain is well-marked with signage along with two boardwalks to cross. At the end of the trail is a beautiful view of Mud Lake.

Note that during the springtime the trail has a few 'mucky' spots, so we would advise that you wear shoes that you don't mind getting a little muddy. Sandals or white sneakers probably aren't a good idea.

Menzel is located on Roblin Road, 7.5 km west of the hamlet of Roblin. There is no fire number to plug into your GPS but don't worry, you shouldn't have any trouble finding the trailhead. Just look for the vehicles parked along the roadside near the entrance. See the map below.

A tradition that we're creating with our gatherings is, after the physical activity, we try and negate the calories burned by visiting a close by pub or restaurant. After this week's hike, everyone is invited back to Shoeless Joe's in Napanee for a cold beverage or a bite to eat.

We hope to see you there! If you can't make it out to this hike, no worries, we have a bunch more coming soon. Check out our schedule for more opportunities.
