Join us for Paddle #1 on Thursday, April 28th

Our inaugural paddle is on Thursday, April 28th at 6:30pm. We're so excited to get this thing started, and look forward to meeting everyone for our maiden voyage along the beautiful Napanee River. To everyone attending, below are a few details that will help maximize your experience...

1. The launch location is at the Centre Street Boat Launch in Napanee, beside the Waterfront River Pub & Terrace. Please arrive a bit early to unload your vessels.

2. We suggest you park up in the municipal parking lot on Water Street and walk back down to the launch. It may be busy on the lower lot, and we don't want to take away too many spots from pub visitors.

3. Don't forget your personal safety devices... PFDs (life jackets), safety kits (light, whistle, rope). If you don't have one, you can purchase one at Canadian Tire. Safety first, folks.

4. If you don't have your own vessel, Harley at Riverbank Rentals will have a few kayaks available for rent on Thursday! Please reserve in advance by sending her a message on Instagram or giving her a call at 613-214-7097.

5. Before entering the water, you'll be required to sign a waiver. Look for one of the organizers and we'll get your name on the sheet.

6. Please dress according to April weather, and be aware that you'll probably need to get your feet a bit wet... the water is chilly!

7. Set your phone/watch alarm for half the time you want to paddle, probably 30 minutes will do it. That way we'll be back in about an hour before the sun goes down.

8. During your paddle, please keep your distance from George the Swan (pictured above)! I'm sure he's a nice swan, but he's been know to get angry with paddlers if you look at him funny.

9. Everyone is invited to enjoy a bite or a beverage at the Waterfront River Pub after the paddle. We'll have worked up a sweat and deserve a bit of a cool down.

10. If the weather is bad, we'll have to cancel. Paddling in a rain storm or crazy high winds is not a fun experience. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
