We hope you can join Naturally Outdoors on Saturday, July 8th at 10am as we paddle Mellon Lake.
Note that we were originally scheduled to paddle Beaver Lake on the 8th but we didn't realize the Power Boat Races were happening on the same weekend. Super fast speed boats + leisurely paddled canoes, kayaks & SUPs = not an ideal scenario.
No biggie, we've just flip-flopped our scheduled July paddling events.
To access Mellon Lake, we're launching from the parking lot south of the big parking lot at the Lennox & Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area. Please don't confuse this with Little Mellon Lake at Sheffield Conservation Area.
Seriously, could we make this any more confusing???
Due to lack of space near the ramp, we kindly ask that you drive down the hill, unload your vessel, then walk back to the boat launch. The ramp itself is rather steep, so please be extra careful when getting in and out of your vessel.
To get to Mellon Lake, you have to paddle under Highway 41 and through a relatively narrow creek. At the end of the creek, you'll finally find the lake. If you've never been, trust us when we say it's a beautiful view. We'll be out on the water for about 2 hours total.
After the paddle, all are welcome to join us for lunch at The Black Cat Cafe in Tamworth. They have a fantastic patio and the food is even better.
Hope to see you there!
